Biography

I have a background in molecular biology and genetics from the university of Edinburgh, UK. I did my PhD as a collaboration between the lab of E. Elizabeth Patton at the university of Edinburgh, and a biotech company, NeuroSearch A/S, that was based in Ballerup, Denmark. After finishing my PhD I joined the lab of Professor Søren Peter Olesen, the Danish National Arrhytmia Research Center, and two years ago, I started working in the Cardiac Genetics group, headed by Assoc. professor Morten S. Olesen. Our group uses human genetics and patient cohorts, to understand and identify genetic factors contributing to the development of cardiac arrhythmias. I have a strong interest in the development and function of the cardiovascular system, and in particularly the contributing factors to the development of cardiac arrhythmias, and the molecular and metabolic processes that are important for the proper function of the cadiomyocyte.
