Biography
Lars Dyrskjøt is a professor at Aarhus University and leads a translational research programme in bladder cancer at the Department of Molecular Medicine, Aarhus University Hospital. His research focuses on the biological mechanisms that drive bladder cancer development, treatment response, and resistance.
A central theme in his work is the discovery and clinical implementation of biomarkers that can improve diagnosis, prognosis, and treatment selection. His group has played a leading role in developing liquid-biopsy approaches based on circulating tumour DNA and urinary tumour DNA, which can reveal whether microscopic disease remains after treatment and help monitor recurrence.
By combining molecular biology, genomics, prospective biobank studies, and interventional clinical trials, Dyrskjøt’s research aims to translate detailed knowledge of tumour biology into more precise and personalised care for patients with bladder cancer.
