Biography
I'm a consultant gastroenterologist at the Gastrounit at Hvidovre Hospital and a professor at the University of Copenhagen, Denmark. My research focuses on inflammatory bowel disease and on understanding its heterogeneous disease course. I do this by studying its epidemiology, e.g. its occurrence, disease course and prognosis, treatment outcomes, and by combining
these with extensive biobanking to facilitate translational research into disease mechanisms. Furthermore, I am working with eHealth solutions for self-monitoring in gastroenterological diseases including inflammatory bowel disease and irritable bowel syndrome.
