Biography
The research areas of special interest comprise skin oncology and UV exposure. Researchers work in an interdisciplinary and translational framework, focusing on developing new dermatological treatments to high risk patients.
The department’s paraclinical research on skin cancer centres on mechanisms of photocarcinogenesis, while clinical research includes investigations of skin cancer prophylaxis, individual risk assessment with non-invasive, quantifying techniques, and early interventional trials.
Further dedicated research areas represent cutaneous lymphomas, eczema and skin barrier, type 4 allergy, work-related eczema, chronic ulcers, connective tissue diseases, psoriasis, venerology, tattoo reactions, laser dermatology, drug delivery, and databases on atopic dermatitis, psoriasis, hidrosadenitissuppurativa, and chronic urticaria.
