Biography
Christian Lodberg Hvas is a clinical professor of gastroenterology at Aarhus University and consultant gastroenterologist at Aarhus University Hospital. He leads the Centre for Faecal Microbiota Transplantation (CEFTA) at the hospital, with a mission to make microbiome therapies accessible to patients who need them.
He serves on the expert working group revising the tissue and cells guide under the European Directorate for the Quality of Medicines and Health Care (EDQM) and is a member of the steering committee for the European FMT Network and the Nordic Trial Alliance in FMT, which includes centers across the Nordic countries.
At Aarhus University Hospital, Hvas also leads the intestinal failure unit, providing specialized care for patients with severe malabsorption and complex inflammatory bowel diseases. His work includes basic science and clinical research in collaboration with national and international researchers, advancing gastroenterology and improving patient outcomes.
