Biography
Zongsu Wei is Associate Professor at the Department of Biological and Chemical Engineering at Aarhus University. His research focuses on catalysis and photochemistry, with the aim of developing new ways to manipulate highly stable chemical bonds that are traditionally difficult to break.
Wei works at the intersection of physical chemistry, materials science and chemical engineering, designing mechanistically informed catalytic systems that operate under mild and energy-efficient conditions. He is particularly interested in light-driven reactions and in understanding how molecular interactions can be exploited to activate otherwise inert compounds. His research combines fundamental chemical insight with applied perspectives, addressing challenges relevant to environmental chemistry and sustainable chemical processes. Wei has published widely in international peer-reviewed journals and contributes to advancing concept-driven approaches in modern catalysis.
