Biography
Stefano Donati is Senior Researcher and Co-PI at the Novo Nordisk Foundation Center for Biosustainability at Technical University of Denmark. He leads the C1 Systems Biology group, which explores how microbes that grow on single-carbon compounds such as CO₂, formate or methanol can be turned into efficient cell factories for sustainable production of chemicals and materials. His research combines systems and synthetic biology, high-throughput multi-omics, metabolic modelling, analytical chemistry and laboratory automation to understand and reprogram microbial metabolism — all aimed at enabling climate-friendly biomanufacturing.
