Biography
Sijia Feng is a researcher at Aarhus University working at the intersection of environmental science, remote sensing, and machine learning. Her research focuses on developing data-driven methods to monitor soil moisture, greenhouse gas emissions, and ecosystem processes across agricultural and natural landscapes.
A central theme in her work is combining satellite observations, environmental modelling, and process-guided machine learning to improve understanding of how land, climate, and human activities interact. She works with Earth observation data to quantify environmental variables across large scales and improve predictions under changing climate conditions.
Her research contributes to climate-smart agriculture and environmental monitoring by translating complex environmental data into actionable insights. By integrating remote sensing with computational modelling, Feng’s work aims to support sustainable land management and assessments of agricultural greenhouse gas emissions.
