Biography
Shaan Khurshid is a cardiologist, cardiac electrophysiologist, and researcher at Mass General Brigham and Harvard Medical School. His research focuses on cardiovascular epidemiology, digital health, and the use of large-scale health data to improve prediction and prevention of cardiovascular disease.
A central theme in his work is understanding how lifestyle factors, biological signals, and emerging technologies can identify individuals at risk of conditions such as atrial fibrillation and heart failure before symptoms appear. He combines electronic health records, wearable device data, imaging, and machine-learning approaches to study disease risk across large populations.
His research aims to translate insights from population-scale datasets into practical tools for prevention and clinical care. By linking epidemiology, data science, and cardiovascular medicine, Khurshid’s work contributes to earlier detection and more personalised approaches to cardiovascular health.
