Biography
Professor Peter Westh is a leading enzymologist at the Technical University of Denmark (DTU), heading the Interfacial Enzymology Group within the Department of Biotechnology and Biomedicine. His research focuses on enzyme interactions at interfaces, with applications in carbon capture, plastic degradation, and industrial bioprocessing. He collaborates with the Novo Nordisk Foundation CO₂ Research Center (CORC) to develop enzyme-assisted carbon capture technologies and explores enzymatic plastic recycling to support a circular economy. With over 10,000 citations, his work has significantly advanced our understanding of enzyme-substrate interactions in complex environments. Beyond research, he mentors students and fosters interdisciplinary collaboration, driving innovation in enzymology. His contributions play a key role in developing sustainable solutions for pressing environmental challenges.
