Biography

Pernille Tveden-Nyborg is an Associate Professor at the University of Copenhagen, Department of Veterinary and Animal Sciences, within the Section of Preclinical Disease Biology. Her research focuses on preclinical animal models, particularly in non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) and its progression to non-alcoholic steatohepatitis (NASH) and liver fibrosis. She investigates the role of vitamin C in neurodevelopment and potential treatment strategies for metabolic-inflammatory diseases. As course director for Biomedicine, she also plays a key role in veterinary and biomedical education. Tveden-Nyborg serves as an associate editor for Basic & Clinical Pharmacology & Toxicology and ACTA Vet Scandinavica. The Section of Preclinical Disease Biology conducts research on human and veterinary disease models, with a focus on immunology, pharmacology, and pathology. Her work has been widely cited, highlighting her contributions to translational disease research.
