Biography
Michele Orini is a Senior Lecturer in Healthcare Engineering within the Department of Biomedical Engineering at King’s College London. A biomedical engineer and data scientist by training, he develops advanced computational tools to better understand and treat cardiovascular disease. His work bridges engineering and medicine—partnering with clinicians to unravel the mechanics of sudden cardiac death and improve disease prediction and prevention.
He explores wearable technologies and remote health sensing, signal processing techniques, cardiac arrhythmias, and computational medicine—cutting‑edge areas that bring digital innovation directly into patient care. Orini earned joint PhDs in Biomedical Engineering from the University of Zaragoza (Spain) and the Polytechnic University of Milan (Italy), after obtaining a Master’s in Engineering from Centrale Paris (France). Before joining King’s College London in June 2024, he was a Research Fellow and Senior Research Fellow at University
