Biography
Mads Langager Larsen is a physician and researcher whose work focuses on fetal development, paediatrics, and neurodevelopmental disorders. His research investigates how events during pregnancy influence brain development and later neurological and developmental outcomes in children.
A central theme in his research is identifying early biological markers of neurodevelopmental conditions using prenatal imaging, clinical data, and population-based health registries. By combining fetal ultrasound measurements with long-term follow-up data, he studies how differences in growth and development before birth relate to conditions such as cerebral palsy, epilepsy, autism, and intellectual disability.
His research aims to improve understanding of the earliest origins of neurodevelopmental disorders. By linking prenatal development with childhood health outcomes, Larsen’s work contributes to earlier identification of developmental risk and deeper insight into how the brain develops before birth.
