Biography
Karine Raymond is a group leader in regenerative medicine whose research focuses on how cells and tissues maintain homeostasis and repair themselves after stress or injury, with a focus on skin. Her goal is to translate knowledge on these processes into therapeutic applications.
A central theme of her research is understanding how stem cells and other specialized cells communicate within a tissue and which signals enable them to sense changes in their environment to coordinate repair and regeneration. By combining molecular and cellular approaches with advanced experimental models, she explores how tissues respond to injury and restore function.
Her research bridges fundamental biology and clinical application, contributing to the development of regenerative therapies for diseases and injuries where natural repair mechanisms are insufficient.
