Biography

Kamilla Pedersen is a PhD fellow at the University of Copenhagen’s Department of Veterinary and Animal Sciences, within the Section of Preclinical Disease Biology. She earned her cand.med.vet. degree in 2020 and has since focused her research on metabolic diseases, particularly non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) and non-alcoholic steatohepatitis (NASH). Her work investigates how dietary components influence disease progression, using preclinical models to explore metabolic dysfunction and liver pathology. She has co-authored studies on the impact of long-chain fatty acids on NASH and neuromuscular responses to anesthesia in pigs. The Section of Preclinical Disease Biology develops advanced models for human and veterinary diseases, integrating pharmacology, immunology, and pathology. As part of the Vet School at the Faculty of Health and Medical Sciences, the department contributes to translational research, bridging fundamental science with clinical applications.
