Biography
Joachim Elbeshausen Sestoft is an assistant professor at the Niels Bohr Institute, University of Copenhagen, whose research focuses on quantum physics, nanotechnology, and quantum devices. His work investigates how quantum states can be created, controlled, and measured in nanoscale systems, with applications in sensing, communication, and quantum technologies.
A central theme in his research is understanding the behaviour of electrons, photons, and quantum systems in engineered nanostructures. By combining condensed-matter physics, nanofabrication, and advanced measurement techniques, he studies how quantum effects can be harnessed for information processing and precision sensing.
