Biography
Henrik Toft Sørensen is Clinical Professor and Head of the Department of Clinical Epidemiology at Aarhus University and Aarhus University Hospital. He is a senior author on large-scale population studies and a leading figure in clinical epidemiology, widely recognised for pioneering the use of nationwide health registries in medical research.
Sørensen’s work focuses on disease risk, prognosis and outcomes across the life course, with major contributions to cancer, cardiovascular disease, diabetes and methodological development in observational epidemiology. His research has helped establish registry-based epidemiology as a robust scientific approach, enabling long-term follow-up and real-world evidence at population scale.
