Biography
Helene Seroussi is a glaciologist and professor at Dartmouth College whose research focuses on the evolution of ice sheets and glaciers in a changing climate. Her work uses numerical models and satellite observations to understand how ice responds to interactions with the atmosphere and ocean, and how these processes contribute to sea-level rise.
A central theme in her research is improving projections of future ice loss from Antarctica and Greenland. She investigates how uncertainties in ice-sheet processes, environmental forcing, and underlying topography affect predictions of glacier retreat and long-term sea-level change. Her work also contributes to international efforts to develop and compare ice-sheet models used in climate assessments.
By combining observations, modelling, and climate science, Seroussi’s research aims to improve understanding of ice-sheet stability and provide more reliable projections of future sea-level rise.
