Biography
Enrico Orsi is a postdoctoral researcher at the Novo Nordisk Foundation Center for Biosustainability (DTU Biosustain) in Denmark. His work focuses on metabolic engineering and synthetic biology, particularly in developing microbial cell factories capable of converting one-carbon (C1) compounds like CO₂ and formate into valuable chemicals. By optimizing non-model bacteria, he aims to advance sustainable bioproduction and contribute to a circular carbon economy. Enrico holds a PhD in Bioprocess Engineering from Wageningen University and has conducted research at institutions including the Max Planck Institute and UC San Diego. His recent publications explore topics such as CRISPR-based genome editing, synthetic C1 assimilation, and metabolic sensor design. Through his research, Enrico is dedicated to developing innovative biotechnological solutions for a greener future.
