Biography

Chaudhary Muhammad Aqdus Ilyas is a postdoctoral researcher in the Department of Applied Mathematics and Computer Science at the Technical University of Denmark. His work sits at the intersection of affective computing, human–computer interaction, and cognitive systems, with particular emphasis on reading behavior, eye tracking, and AI-driven text analysis.

During his PhD at Aalborg University, he developed methods for facial emotion recognition to support therapeutic interactions for individuals with traumatic brain injury. He then served as a research associate at Cambridge Digital Humanities, working on computational modeling of humanistic data. Currently, he leads investigations into how eye movements can reveal a reader’s internal state, and whether AI-generated text can closely mimic human authorship when assessed via gaze dynamics.
