Biografi

Yonglun Luo is a professor of biomedical research at Aarhus University, specialising in regenerative medicine, gene therapy, and RNA-based treatments. His work focuses on how the body repairs damaged tissues, particularly why this process becomes less effective with age or in chronic disease. He studies the role of specific cell types and molecular signals involved in muscle regeneration, aiming to understand how these processes can be improved or restored. Luo’s team uses cutting-edge tools like gene editing, CRISPR, and RNA technologies to develop targeted therapies that promote tissue repair and reduce harmful inflammation. His research has implications for treating muscle-wasting conditions, improving recovery after injury, and supporting healthy aging. Through close collaboration with clinicians and molecular biologists, Luo bridges fundamental research and practical medicine, working toward therapies that can one day be used to help patients maintain strength and mobility.
