Biografi
Simon Lebech Cichosz is an Associate Professor in the Department of Health Science and Technology at Aalborg University. A biomedical engineering specialist with a PhD from 2016, he applies artificial intelligence and machine learning to improve diabetes care and other chronic disease management. His research ranges from developing models that use continuous glucose monitoring (CGM) data to distinguish between healthy individuals, prediabetes and type 2 diabetes with high accuracy, to creating open-source tools for in-depth CGM analysis. He has also studied how missing CGM data affects reliability, showing that at least 70% data retention ensures robust metrics, and co-developed a predictive model for early detection of elevated ketone levels, helping to prevent diabetic ketoacidosis. Recognised for his contributions to peer review, he was named Reviewer of the Month by Annals of Pancreatic Cancer in 2024.
