Biografi

Qiaolin Deng is Principal Researcher at Karolinska Institutet, with an affiliation to Stockholm University, where she leads a research group in developmental biology and epigenetic inheritance of disease. Her work focuses on how early developmental processes, particularly in germ cells, influence health and disease risk later in life.

Deng investigates how environmental, metabolic and physiological factors during critical windows of development can leave lasting molecular and epigenetic marks that affect organ function and disease susceptibility. Using experimental models and molecular approaches, her research addresses developmental programming, epigenetic regulation and mechanisms that link early life conditions to adult disease. Her work connects fundamental developmental biology with long-term disease risk and contributes to a growing understanding of how early-life biology shapes health across the lifespan.
