Biografi

Nicholas M. I. Taylor is Associate Professor at the Novo Nordisk Foundation Center for Protein Research (CPR), University of Copenhagen, where he leads a group in the Protein Structure & Function Program. His research focuses on the molecular architecture and mechanisms of large protein complexes, particularly membrane proteins and molecular machines. By integrating cryo-electron microscopy (cryo-EM), protein biochemistry, bioinformatics, and structure prediction tools, his team investigates how proteins function at atomic resolution. The Taylor Group’s work reveals fundamental biological processes and provides insights relevant to drug discovery and biomedical applications. Dr. Taylor is based at the Department of Cellular and Molecular Medicine in the Panum Building and collaborates widely to advance structural biology methods. He holds a PhD from EMBL Heidelberg and has conducted postdoctoral research at the University of Basel and EPFL.
