Biografi

Dr Mirim Shin is a postdoctoral research fellow on the Youth Mental Health & Technology Team at the Brain & Mind Centre, University of Sydney.
Her work centers on understanding how circadian rhythms, sleep–wake cycles, and thermoregulation influence mental health trajectories in young people, with a particular focus on their connections to metabolic and inflammatory markers.
Her doctoral research examined sleep and thermoregulation, and she has since contributed to studies on mood disorders, chronobiology, and mental health interventions.
She is co-author on work including the investigation of 24-hour skin temperature rhythms in emerging mood disorders and changes in sleep patterns during the COVID-19 pandemic among people with a history of depression.
Dr Shin brings an interdisciplinary approach combining physiological measurement, sleep science, and mental health research, aiming to inform precision circadian- and sleep-based interventions for youth.
