Biografi
Louise Ingerslev Roug is a pediatrician and clinical researcher at the Department of Paediatrics and Adolescent Medicine, Rigshospitalet, Copenhagen. Her work focuses on improving cancer care for children and their families by rethinking how treatment is delivered. She leads studies exploring whether parts of chemotherapy can safely be administered at home by parents, reducing hospital visits and easing the strain on everyday family life. This research places Denmark among the first countries to test parent-administered chemotherapy in a systematic way. Beyond cancer care delivery, she also investigates models of supportive care that integrate medical safety with quality of life for children, siblings, and parents. With her combination of clinical expertise and research innovation, Roug contributes to shaping future pediatric oncology practices where treatment is not only effective, but also less disruptive for families navigating a child’s serious illness.
