Biografi

Kasper Lolk is a physician and researcher at Aarhus University whose work focuses on epidemiology, neurology, and population-based health research. His research investigates how genetic factors, biomarkers, and clinical characteristics influence the risk of neurological disorders and long-term outcomes after disease or injury.

A central theme in his work is understanding why some individuals develop complications such as epilepsy following traumatic brain injury while others do not. By combining large health registries, genetic data, biomarkers, and clinical information, he studies how biological vulnerability interacts with environmental and medical factors. His research aims to improve risk prediction and support earlier identification of patients at risk of neurological complications.

Through interdisciplinary approaches linking clinical medicine, genetics, and epidemiology, Lolk’s work contributes to understanding brain disease mechanisms, prevention and personalised treatment.
