Helene Bei Thomsen is an engineer and PhD fellow at Steno Diabetes Center Aarhus and Aarhus University. Her research focuses on how artificial intelligence can improve care for people with diabetes. By combining medical insight with data science, she investigates how machine learning models can be trained on large-scale diabetes data to predict blood sugar fluctuations better. Her work aims to make diabetes technology more precise, safe, and fair—especially across diverse patient populations. Thomsen’s background in biomedical engineering and AI-driven research positions her at the forefront of digital health innovation.
