Biografi

Eugene Polzik is professor of physics at the Niels Bohr Institute and a global pioneer in quantum optics and quantum information science. He has made landmark contributions to quantum teleportation, entanglement between light and atoms, and ultra-precise measurements that surpass standard quantum limits. His experiments explore how strange quantum effects can be harnessed for real-world technologies—such as sensors capable of detecting brainwaves, gravitational ripples, or tiny changes in magnetic fields. Polzik’s work bridges deep theoretical insight with cutting-edge experimentation, helping lay the foundation for quantum communication and computing. In recognition of his achievements, he was named Moore Distinguished Scholar at Caltech in 2010, joining the ranks of figures like Stephen Hawking. Polzik continues to push the boundaries of what is measurable, showing how quantum physics can turn nature’s noisiest signals into something we can clearly hear.
