Biografi

Cyrielle Fougeroux is a biomedical researcher at the University of Copenhagen’s Department of Immunology and Microbiology, where she explores how to develop more effective vaccines. Originally from France, she earned her PhD in immunology from Aix-Marseille University before moving to Denmark. Her research focuses on virus-like particles—tiny shells that mimic real viruses without causing disease. By encoding these structures with mRNA, Fougeroux and her team aim to create next-generation vaccines that can trigger stronger, more lasting immune responses than current mRNA vaccines. Passionate about translating science into real-world impact, she is part of the EVAX project supported by the Novo Nordisk Foundation. When she’s not in the lab, she enjoys sharing her research with the public—whether on stage, in interviews, or as part of science outreach events.
